A Prayer of Surrender

Looking over in the upper right hand corner of my journal I noticed a phrase I had scribbled down a few months ago, “Begin each day with a prayer of surrender.” I first heard these words in a Women’s Bible study and they were so impactful I wanted to make sure I didn’t forget them. Little did I know at the time just how significant those words would become…

Life has, and always will have, its ups and its downs. Yet in recent months a basket full of events occurred that abruptly brought things to a halt. NO ups and downs, just a complete stand-still. Simple things became impossible to do. Included in that list was one of my greatest disappointments, I was finding it harder and harder to write. I found myself exhausted and weary. Then Covid hit!

Yet today I find myself thanking the Lord. He was there through it all. He saw me through the impossible and now it is time to move on. It is time to take those baby steps of faith that You are placing before me. Every morning when I rise let me ”Begin each day with a prayer of surrender.”

Prayer of Surrender

I cry out...
In Pain
In Longing
In Desperation!

YOU are there, YOU are HERE!

I am reaching out,
Taking hold of Your hand.

Lead Me, I Pray!

I am asking,
 I am believing,
  I am trusting,
I am resting in Your care.

I have nothing to give,
I am nothing without YOU.
Take me under Your wing
So I too can rise up each day!

Every Morning,
When I rise,
Give me JESUS!
