Cover Yourself!

I love quilts!

Anyone else love to snuggle up and cover yourself with the softness of a well worn quilt?

One of my greatest pleasures in life is coming to the end of the day, especially a day that has been extremely difficult or tiring, grabbing a cup of coffee and then burrowing in with one of those cotton soft quilts. Guess you could say, “Quilts are my love language!”

It’s amazing how wrapping up in squares of pieced together cotton can be so transforming, yet that is exactly what it is! It is symbolic of the way our Lord covers us, giving us refuge and shelter when our spirit needs to rest.

“He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge;

His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.”

Psalm 91:4

The older we get, the more we realize the stark contrast between the harshness of this world and the comforting peace that comes from God’s Word. Much like covering up in the soft comfort of a good old quilt, God’s Word has the power to cover our hearts and our minds. Even though we may sometimes find it hard to grasp the magnitude of His love, God’s leaves us with a gift that transcends all of our human understanding. It is HIS perfect peace!

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition,

with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,

will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Phillipians 4:6-7

    I’m sharing this because I think it’s simply beautiful and simply the truth. Thank you for spreading truth which is God’s word. Sometimes you might not come off as godly or religious, because we’re so distracted by the world around you and try to protect yourself with all the evilness that comes your way and sometimes good things come your way however, you don’t realize it until after the fact. Once again thank you very much for sharing. I can’t wait to until you post more of Gods truth.
