His Eyes are Upon Us All!

It’s the first week of March and already the birds are playing and singing outside on the porch .
As I was taking a walk down the street the sound of happy chirps filled the trees around me. It’s amazing how something so simple can become such a treasured reminder that our God is still in control. From the smallest of His creation to the largest world events, He is ever present. His eyes are upon us all!
“I sing because I am Happy I sing because I am Free For His eye is on the Sparrow And I know He watches Me.” Author: Curtis B. Doss (July 4, 1922 - January 11, 2011)
I love the way this old song lets us see nothing is too small for our Lord’s eyes, not even a little sparrow.
There is a comfort in knowing our God is always watching over us! He lets us know that no one is too small or insignificant in His eyes. Not one!
The book of Luke says it this way:
“Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God” (Luke 12:6). Here is one of the tiniest of God’s creatures yet they are important enough to be singled out in scripture. “Not one of them is forgotten before God.”
Has there ever been a time in your life where you felt forgotten?
You are not alone, many of us have walked in those same shoes. That’s why this verse is so precious. No matter the cause, be it loneliness, addiction, abuse, shame, guilt, the list can go on and on. Still, God is there! Not even a little sparrow is forgotten before God and you are of a much greater value.
“Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows” (Luke 12:6-7 NKJV).
Reading these words I find I am amazed, yet so very humbled at the depth of what God is saying.
This is one of those concepts of God’s that I constantly have to come back and visit over and over again. It is so vast, yet so intimate, all at the same time. It correlates, in my mind, to the ultimate act of love where Christ died for all of mankind, setting us all free. Yet it’s so personal, He cares about all the details of our lives, down to every hair on our head.
“Do not fear…you are of more value than many sparrows.”
Can you allow yourself to grab hold of the beauty of the intimate way in which that is being said? No matter where you are or what is going on around you: YOU matter to God! What a magnificent gift. You and I can rest assured; His eyes are upon us all!

Enjoyed reading your porch Talk so much. Thank you.
El Roi, the God who sees!
