Keep On, Keeping On

Now that we are a few weeks into the New Year I have finally gotten back to my normal routine. How about you? No matter if it’s work, school, or family routines, it always seems to take awhile, especially after the craziness of the Holidays are over, but it sure feels good when you find your new normal again. Just as in other years, God added His special touch to my life by pointing out some changes that needed to take place. It seems no matter if it’s the large or small things of life, God makes everyday full of “faith possibilities.” Our part is to pay attention, and from there, to keep on, keeping on.
What about you, did you make any New Year’s Resolutions? Or maybe, did you do something slightly different this year? Did you set about making some changes in your life, with a few specific objectives? Or possibly, did you do something that was much more life altering? Is your whole life taking an abrupt turn? In other words, is God leading you down a brand new path? No matter what your new normal may be, if God is leading, it IS exciting! So I want to encourage you, keep on, keeping on!
Along with the encouragement comes this simple caution, when those new normals set in, there is always the opportunity for the mundane to follow close behind. Awareness is part of the battle. Each moment of our life is an adventure, it can never be mundane if we consider God gave us each of those moments as a “faith possibility.” Don’t throw them away! Consider the possibility that those mundane things in this life may turn out to be, in time, eternal souls that were watching. You are making a difference. So keep on, keeping on.
Faith possibilities,
are happening in every moment of our life
Don’t throw them away!
Just as in all of our lives, difficulties are a continual possibility and hidden hardships are always eager and waiting to step in at every turn. These are the times in which we live. But, and this is the important part, there are also the opportunities in which we will find ourselves when trials of various kinds come our way. These are OUR very own unique faith opportunities.
So, in this New Year it is important for you and I to let God be God. Especially when we can’t control events around us, these are the moments we are able to see how our faith can produce perseverance. And this is also how we can see that amazing gift of joy, even during the hardest of times, that comes from a place that is beyond human understanding. Where perseverance comes from faith based on a Lord and Savior who will sustain you so that you can finish the walk that you started.
So today, I want to encourage you with this prayer...

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault,
and it will be given to you.
Isaiah 61:2-5 (NIV)
