Opening the Windows

I have to say, I love getting to open my windows for the first time each year. I consider that, more than the date on the calendar, the official arrival of Spring. There is something symbolic about “Opening the Windows” and welcoming in those fresh breezes of the new season. It’s one of those gifts of early Spring.
How about you? Have you already had your windows open a time or two? There was a few warm days a couple of weeks ago when it smelled like Spring and I couldn’t let that opportunity get away. It felt wonderful to open those windows and have that fresh clean air flowing through the house. Later we were still enjoying that lingering gift of the crisp smell on the sheets when we headed to bed.
There are times Scripture is akin to that first moment your windows are opened up in Springtime. When all of a sudden there’s a depth of understanding to Words that you may have even read before, but this time there’s a fresh breath of meaning. When Scripture seems to be illuminated just as that window opens to our hearts, it’s as if the light bulb has been turned on.
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
Psalm 119:105
It’s amazing how God can give us a fresh perspective that often correlates with the very thing that is happening in our life at that very moment. His timing is no accident. It is what makes Scripture alive, illuminating and relevant to our life.
GOD’S WORD IS OUR TRUTH FOR TODAY, AND OUR EVER PRESENT HOPEFULNESS FOR TOMORROW
